MacBook Pro sound card

Hey everyone, been forever since I posted here.

I have a MB 15inch running all current updates.

I have a set of speakers, and only the right one works. Until I can go buy some new ones,is it possible to make the left and right channel both go through the same speaker?

yes it should be... go into system preferences click on sound, click on balance the direction you need... that might work... otherwise you might need to get some terminal access.

Something along the lines of an
osascript -e
command... like [ osascript -e 'set volume output volume 100' ] but for channel balance...?

but actually the more I think about it, the sound card has a problem with output to a different channel... so I don't think any of my solutions will help...
